About Mid-America Pride Organizers (MAPO)

Mid America Pride Organizers (MAPO) is a network of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Organizations located in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, North and South Dakota, Nebraska. The purpose of MAPO is to promote lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and Intersex Pride on a regional level and to empower and support local and statewide pride organizations in their efforts of planning and promoting pride celebrations. MAPO also facilitates networking and skill-sharing information among members through educational programs. One of the means of doing this is the annual conference.


Mission Statement:

MAPO is dedicated to networking and serving as a role model in advancing the Pride of our diverse communities by promoting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex pride on a regional level. Provide a means to speak with a unified voice with respect to issues of common concern to its members by acting as a source of education.

Working hand-in-hand with InterPride. MAPO focuses its efforts on local and regional activities, while InterPride focuses on issues of national and international concern.
